Víg Street stories

Norbert Oláh’s exhibition opening

As a passionate fan of Józsefváros, painter Norbert Oláh has been seeking to record the atmosphere and the stories of this district in many of his works. In his recent paintings he also entertains this subject: the houses at 20 and 22 Víg Street. The previous one housed Omnia garage and eight sisters lived there in the same Jewish family; while the house next door was the home of Aladár Pege, the legendary jazz double bassist.
